Adelaide was the pioneer city in Australia for the adoption of integrated ticketing system in 1977. It is therefore understandable that the tickets for Adelaide Metro do not give you the same refined feeling as the Metcard used in Melbourne, which was only introduced in 1983. (I give no assurance of the accuracy of the years.) Tickets for Adelaide Metro are small, single color printed, with a wide ugly magnet strip attached on the middle of the ticket and never fancy with a picture edition as sometimes observed on Metcard. What more than compensate all above, in my opinion, are the quotes printed on the back of Adelaide Metro tickets. That was a great deed. You do not need to get prepared for the inspiration from those quotes. It just happens some day when you riding on a bus searching for a pastime, a no-brainer peek at your ticket make you engaged with your favorite quote. I am no fun of ticket collecting but I did collect some tickets for the quotes to be shared with you. Now read on:
“If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours.”
“You can’t get anywhere unless you start.”
“Each day comes just once in a life time.”
“Your life is what your thoughts make it.”
“You never know what you can do until you try.”
“To know ones ignorance is part of knowledge.”
“Making the most of today is the best preparation for tomorrow.”
“If we do not stand for something we will fall for everything.”
“Nothing makes people go into debt like trying to keep up with people who already are.”
“Purpose is what gives life meaning.”
“To find friendship, offer friendship.”
“You’ll never get rid of a bad temper by losing it.”
“Every ending is a new beginning.”
“Pleasant thoughts make pleasant lives”
“Life is a canvas – you fill in the picture”
“Do not choose to be wrong for the sake of being different”
“Fear is the parent of cruelty”
“Your smile is the most important thing you wear.”
“Wealth buys leisure but not wisdom.”
“You’ll never get rid of a bad temper by losing it.”
the quotes are smart!
